KILN-FORMED GLASS CLASSES:


I teach a variety of glass classes in my personal glass studio. Classes are limited to 4 students. The days and times the classes meet are determined by the students.

Glass Fusing I
* No previous glass experience required.

This class covers the basic fundamentals of glass fusing and kiln forming. Learn about various glass types, glass compatibility, preparing the kiln for firing, firing schedules, and basic cold-working processes. Students explore a variety of fusing applications and forming techniques by creating numerous samples and 2 projects.

6 weeks/18 hours (class meets once a week for 3 hours)

Glass Fusing II
*Students must have prior experience in fusing

Students in this class explore more complex glass fusing and kiln-forming processes including pattern bars, pot melts and damming. The class also covers a variety of alternative forming methods and advanced cold-working techniques.

6 weeks/18 hours (class meets once a week for 3 hours)

Glass Casting I
* No previous glass experience required.

This class covers the basic fundamentals of kiln casting glass including open-face and lost-wax casting. Students will learn; to create 3 dimensional forms in clay and wax, investment formulas, investing and divesting plaster/silica molds, and basic cold-working processes. The class also covers information on various glass types, glass compatibility, preparing the kiln for firing and firing schedules.

Glass Casting II
* Students must have prior kiln-casting experience.

This class offers students further explorations in kiln-casting glass.
The course will cover; alternative mold materials, more complex mold construction, Pate de Verre, and more.
